About BR Performance Academy

BR Performance Academy was started in 2023. Our aim is to create a safe, fun and exciting environment for students to explore the arts. Our teachers have all been in the industry for over 15 years and have a wide range of teaching experience.

We have a variety of classes to choose from, starting with baby ballet all the way to vocational classes for adults, as well as classes suited for SEN students.

No matter what experience you have all students are welcome in class, you will be guided through each lesson so you can reach your highest potential. Our teachers work with each student throughout the term to get to know what they need and how best we can help them succeed. Our main goal is to see each individual grow and explore through the arts whilst making friends and having as much fun as possible.

Each term will bring more opportunities than the last.

Bethany Raey - Principle

Bethany Newman trained at the Deborah Lamb Theatre school in Uckfield from the age of 2, completing her ISTD vocational dance exams in Modern, Tap and Jazz as well as the RAD examinations in Ballet. During her training, she had many performance opportunities in Professional Pantomimes in Eastbourne and Tunbridge Wells, Performances at West End Theatre group 'West end Kids' performing at theatres such as Sadlers Wells.

Following her A-levels she then went on to study at a Performing Arts School in Manchester on 3 year Musical Theatre Course. She studied a range of different dance and performance styles along side singing and acting training as well. After completing this course Bethany continued to perform professionally with local groups as well as audition for London productions as well.

Choosing to pursue a teaching career Bethany has been teaching performing Arts for over 5 years. Bethany teaches many varieties of dance and is currently training with BBO to complete her level 4 teacher diploma.

Bethany currently works at many local dance schools around Sussex teaching a variety of ages from 2 years- 60years. She established BR Performance Academy in 2023. Bethany has a passion for teaching a variety of students and ensuring each class is a fun, friendly and exciting environment for each child to explore the arts.
